In simulated environments we had the advantage that we could subject each individual part to extreme stress situations, like here where we were testing the upper jaw and body to see what they could withstand.
We put them under 4kN of force to only show a deflection of 1mm. This was pretty good considering this would be well above any expected use! It also gives our alligator some lovely scales and chompy teeth. This would be the real-world equivalent of hanging 400kg on the end of the Pocket Grip; that's the same as a small piano!
